Description

It is not unusual to find old musket balls bearing the indentations of teeth, but whether the teeth belonged to humans or animals is hard to say. Some claim that wounded soldiers were given musket balls to bite down on when they underwent surgeries without anaesthetics (hence the term “to bite the bullet”), but others say that it's almost impossible to bite so hard on a musket ball that it would leave an impression in the ball. This one was found in Wendell, Massachusetts by P. Wawrzonek.
