This purse was found during excavation for a new room at the Parsonage in 2003. Located at the site of an old carriage shed, it could have been the property of  Mary Preston Fisher Seymour, wife of Rev. Edward Parsons Seymour. The Seymour family lived at the Parsonage from 1896 until 1902.
