Alvin “Allie” Fiske was the second great-grandson of Wendell's first physician, Dr. Jonathan Fiske (1734-1801). Allie inherited the family farm at Fiske Pond from Dr. Jonathan Fiske's son, Jonas, who built the beautiful home with a wrap-around porch and a sprawling barn in 1805. Allie ran the farm and operated a logging business until the early 1920s when he switched over to dairying exclusively. This photograoh was given to the WHS by Elizabeth Peirce, granddaughter of Allie and Mabel Fiske as well as curator, genealogist, and historian at the Swift River Valley Historical Society in New Salem, Massachusetts.
